Okuma LC30-can turret feeding when spindle is stopped?

I am trying to carry out a ball bar check on Okuma LC30.

This requires the spindle to be stationary but the turret feeding.

The machine appears to be only capable of metres per minute which leads me to believe that if the spindle is not turning then the feedrate will not move.

If anyone has any experience of carrying out a check on this machine or can let me know if there is a solution to feed with the spindle stopped that would be great.

    Cheers

try changing to inches per minute instead of inches per rev. Don't forget to change it back before to IPR BEFORE you start turning again.

There is an M code to do this (for some reason M8** something come to mind) but you many not have that option. I will try to look up the M code for you when I get a chance.

We have a free Okuma Knowledgebase at DataZen Engineering (www.datazenengineering.com) website that might also help you.

    Good Luck

I believe I have given you the incorrect info, when i said the LC30 only supports metres/min I meant that it only supprts mm/rev.Sorry.

I have had a look at an LC30 Manual and it does not mention any code for altering the feedrate from mm/rev to mm or inches per minute.

G94 and G95 should switch between feed types IPM or IPR

    Good luck my Friend!
