I NEED MANDOLIN IGS FORMET KINDLY HELP
Hi everyone.
I've just joined the forum today after coming accross it via a google search. I'm a luthier in england (uk) and have just purchased a set of Siminoff's f5 mandolin plans.
I was going to create 3d drawings of siminoff's plans in Rhino so that I could use my cnc machine to carve the soundboard and back but having read through this thread, it seems this may be harder than I thought!
Has anyone managed to create a 3d drawing and successfully cnc'd it yet? If so, any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Hey chappel
Its much easyer to send your files to Pragmatic, theyll send you back the G code you need. http://www.pragmatic.synthasite.com
Bump!
Can anyone share mandolin top and back file for shopbot with me
Ok gents, here is the g code for a mandolin f5 top. I will provide the inside and back soon. Use a 1/4 inch endmill for each file. Lots of hard work to get to this point so I hope you all appreciate the effort. Please let me know if you have any provlems with this code.
Having a bit of a problem uploading.
I'm looking for this too. My wife has been after me for 2 years to make her an F style mandolin. Thanks
I can help. Using my ShopBot CNC, I have probed the tops and backs of several Gibson F5, A5 mandolins and a Gibson H5 mandola. I converted that process into .dxf files and using my ArtCAM software converted those to cut files.
I can be reached at [email protected].

If you are looking for a 3d mandolin back to load in your cad program then here it is. I can send it in a different formats if you need me to.
Im looking 3d f5 mandolin files if anyone is willing to share. thank you
I have V carve desktop. Do you have files for F5 mandolin? I can import 3d files but I can not make them in V carve desktop.
If you cut it to small you can always nail another piece on the end, but if you cut it to big... then what the hell you gonna do?
