    3x6

    can any one tell me if its ok to build a cnc out of one quater inch aluminum plate

    1/4" plate alone would be kinda week in areas that need to be rigid. But you can always beef it up. Splines, gussets ect. would help alot to make anything stiff. If you are talking uprights, they need to be pretty strong, with some degree of mass but not to heavy......let us know what you come up with on that one

    i will go with 3/4 aluminum
