    How to wire my motors power supply and controllers with breakout board

    Hi,

    I have never done anything like this but I am an engineer....not sure if thats going to help.....HELP..

    I have purchased from EBAY; three Bi-Polar steppermotors (8 lead) ,3 controllers ,a power supply ,and a break out board from Wantai Motors. But I dont know how to wire them together.

    Stepper motors....

    8 wire... I used a volt meter and have found the 4 wire pairs so i thinki good there.

    1) How should i wire them? In parallel or series? then torque rating is the same.



    Controllers.....

    the controllers are "SD-2H086MB" with 12 connections

    A+
    A-
    B+
    B-
    These goto the stepper motor wires?

    DC-
    DC+
    These goto the power unit +24v -24v

    PULS+(+5v)
    PULS-(PUL)..........P2 on Breakout board
    DIR+(+5v)
    DIR-(DIR).............P3 on breakout board
    ENBL+(+5v)
    ENBL-(ENB)..........I think this is left un-connected

    I dont know how to connect the three i have not commented on

    Can anybody help please

    I ahve had a rough go at a wiring diagram

    I bought the same materials, I have the same problem
    How do I contact the wires of the Motor ? Is it?
    Red >>>>> +A
    Blue >>>>>>-A
    Yellow >>>+B
    White >>>>-B
    Please help me.

    You could have gotten the wiring diagram from their website too I suppose:

    With stepper motors just ringing them out isn't quite enough, you have to phase them correctly too in order for them to run.

    Most prefer bipolar parallel wiring.

    Now as for your mystery connections PULS sounds a lot like "PULSE" to me so that would most likely be your step input. DIR is obviously DIRection abbreviated, and I'm going to go out on a limb here and hazard a guess that ENBL is ENaBLe. Hint, lots of electronics do not function unenabled.

    Slow down a bit, take a deep breath, and just work through things a step at a time.

    The reality is you still need to phase a stepper motor correctly in order for it to run right.

    I never had to resort to it yet but the "Bill Krause says:" method sounds like it should work.
