Ok. I know the contacts your talking about. So I should connect the inveter to the N.O. contacts in order to control spindle fwd/rvs at machine control? Also the spindle speed is controlled be the variable speed milling machine head.thanks again

Yes if it has a relay output, just use the contacts to control the VFD, make sure there is nothing else connected to the contacts from previous control to any other part of the machine.

If all you have are the contacts on the old motor relays, or your controller has relay closure outputs, then this (see diagram) would be the connection scheme, as per Al's post.

    Hi guys,
Now I'm hooking up a Kerry lathe. Now this one I beleive should be easier..Do I hook inverter right to motor and then the p24 and 1 and 2 to a switch? The orininal switch used to divert the power so I'm gonna get a smaller one.Does this sound right??Thanks

You can get three position switches with a centre off, one side = Fwd and the other side = Rev.
    N.O. contact on each side.

When I hit run the motor turns on and the switch isn't working. ( my switch may be too big I'm not sure ). Do I have to progam the inverter to see the switch? I'm not sure.... Thanks
