5T Cadillac parameters, or bigger problem?

    Hi everyone!

I just acquired two new (to me) cadillac lathes with 5t's on them. I'm probably going to retrofit sometime, but as of current would love to just get them turning...

I'm having a problem getting the lathe to do anything, the control lights up, but it seems noone's home. It wil kick the relays on the manual jog buttons, and the spindle drives, but after a couple pushes, it throws a servo voltage alarm, the spindle buttons kick the relays, but no motion or alarm...

Does anyone have any clue what might be the situation? I was wondering if it might be the parameters, as that the battery that was connected to the control in question was hammer-dead. Also, is there only supposed to be a battery plugged into the memory board on the bottom? I saw a 5v input on the top board, on the right side, and was wondering if it should have battery power also.

If a person needs more information, I'd love to give it! Just let me know what might help in diagnosing this problem, as that I thought i'm pretty adept in electronics and computers, but this thing is humbling me up pretty quickly...

    Thanks!!!

    Hi Sung!

I am not getting many errors, it is mostly just not working. When it starts up, it displays 96 under the P/S area, and 02 above the 'number' buttons. When at idle, it displays the 'ready' 'Label Skip' and 'Battery' Led's If the feedrate is below 2ipm it will not cause an alarm at all. if the feedrate is above 2ipm, or if you press rapid along with one of the jog buttons, an alarm turns on, with a '1' under the S/V column. Is this meaning that the servos are stuck, or that there is a wiring problem? Also, my supply voltage is a little high, at 250 volts. can that cause this problem? Thank you very much for any help!

I do not have the maintnance manual for it yet, but it is supposed to be in the mail, so I should have it soon.

I'm not in the shop right now, so I can't get the parameters, but I will post them as soon as I get back to the machine.

    thanks!

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi! Parker,
It seems that the NC lost PARAMETER. It's not correct.
I will send you one reference parameter list to your mail.
    Good luck!

    Hey Sung!

I don't see anything in my mail, and was wondering if you had already sent those parameters, or if you hadn't. If you already sent me something to my mail, it must have been the wrong address. If not, no big deal, just checking.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Ahn,

Where there are blank lines, such as in line 06, are they actually blank, or just entirely zeros?

    Thanks!

Can't figure out how to input parameters...

    Okay everybody,

I have the selector over in the PRM column, and the input dial on MDI, but I can't get my values to store. I apologize because I know it has to be very simple, but I have just recieved these machines and have never run them before. How does a person get the machine to store parameters when you type them in? I have made new batteries, and there are no alarms for anything.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Ahn,

When I switch the selector to edit it gives me an alarm 3079, does that mean that I still need to flip the input enable switch? I don't know where that is...

    Thanks!

I am sorry don't know much about 5T or 5M control, but I think the switch is locate on the Motherboard or Memory board in one of the electrical cabinet, may be someone can explain better than I.

I figured out the alarm code, i think the memory board was bad, so I replaced it with another we had lying around and it seems to work now, at least doesn't throw an alarm. But I still can't figure out how to save the parameters. When I am in edit mode, the input doesn't work, when in mdi, they don't save. If anyone knows where the write enable switch is, or knows what the procedure is, that'd be great!

    Thanks!

    Hi Parker,
I sent parameter list to your mail.
    I've sent another mail before.
But It's more Helpful Ahn's Parameter(attached file) than mine.
    Good luck!
