    hi i am new at cnc and forums posted a reply on another thread just to see if i could find out how to post my own then saw that little new thread picture so will try it. when i get some computer experience would like to copy a 788 remington bolt on my pcnc using the rotary table to mill the locking lugs which are a very coarse square thread can this be done?

    Is it actually a thread, or a series of 3 grooves?

    Either way, it can be done, but will require a different approach in either case.

    you are right

    flick you are right i always thought--eyeballing--there was a slight pitch but not just a 45degree cam on one set
