    Power Supply Recomendations

    Hello from B.C,

I am using three of these stepper motors on my benchtop cnc plasma cutter:

    Frame Size: NEMA23
    Step Angle: 1.8 degree
    Voltage: 3.6V
    Current: 2.0A/phase
    Resistance: 1.8Ohm/phase
    Inductance: 2.5mH/phase
    Holding torque: 9.0Kg-cm 125 oz-in
    Rotor inertia: 300g-cm2
    Detent torque: 0.4kg-cm
    Number of wire
leads: 6 (See color code diagram)
    Weight: 1.54lb (0.7kg)
    Length: 2.21” (56mm)

I am now in the works on getting a power supply, but i am not to sure on what size I should get. I have either been looking at a 24v 14 amp power supply or a 36v 10amp power supply.

I am leaning toward the high volt low amp power supply do to that this is a plasma cutter since I want high speed and there is low torque on the machine.

    any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I wasn't sure what voltage to go with when doing my CNC router with Nema23s.

I ended up getting one of these

    http://cgi.ebay.ca/Cnc-Servo-Stepper...item4aa020f327

    Output: 12V-40A, 24V-20A, 36V-13.3A, 48V-10A

Can adjust form 0v to 48v

And I'm glad I did. Set at 48v my steppers (380oz) were getting awfully hot. like 70*C plus. So I just dialed it back to 35v and it is working great
