cut3d raster finish travel across part at z0, and another bug

    Hey Guys,

Using cut3d, I need to machine a 2 sided part, to be exact, a heart, with a 2mm radius on the edges, from 12mm acrylic.

During the finishing pass, the raster generates a path that travels across the workpiece at z0, meaning that sometimes the tool will scratch the part.

Another strange problem is that sometimes the toolpaths are generated with several G2 moves, which mach3 seems to interpret as cutting large circles across the part or quite often hitting a limit switch.

Any solutions to both problems would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Ash

Ash, with your regard to the second problem, I believe in the General Config screen, look for IJ mode, and switch it. This happened to me also (ans as I gather quite a few...) and was shown this soltion here on the forum!

As for the z0 final pass, I also own Cut3D and this annoys me as well, since it totally wastes time. I don't know how to fix this either, and looking for a way...

thanks anyway, but I've given up on cut3d. It would've been a great program, but it has an unfinished feel to it.

    Cheers
