    RF45 electronics requirements

    Aloha all,
I'm not in the market for a RF45 yet, but I'm hoping maybe next year. In doing some homework I'm trying to figure out if it's feasible to use the G540 and 381 oz/in motors. Probably too small, but what if I geared them?

So before the servo vs stepper debate gets fired up, I'd just like to ask how much torque would be practical for this machine. Once i get that nailed down perhaps I can come to that conclusion. I'm not looking for rocket-rapids or wood-chipper feed rates.. Enough to do aluminum and mild steel.

Fire away! Thanks for your input.
