Hurco KM3P won't zero home in x axis

I have a Hurco KM3P .This morning when I tried to zero the table it went over in the X-axis and I got
"Motion Error" & "Emergency Stop" errors. When it hits a limit switch usually I can bump it back manually and it is ok.

This time I took the cover off ( power off, too) and turned the x axis ball screw by hand about 2" in the direction off of the limit switch. It still won't home position.

Any ideas on what to check first?

    Thanks,
    JAckal

Hurco used a funny little prox switch for homing, both our KM3's did the same thing. Both had low voltage on the 5 VDC line out of the power supply. I would check that first then adjust the power supply if needed. I always showed up on the X first, I think it was because of the longer run to the switch, loosing a little voltage normally.

    Under,

Thanks for the info. I checked mine at the switch and it shows 4.8 volts.

How hard is it to adjust the power supply? Can I leave the volt meter hooked up the the wire feeding the switch and then adjust it up?

    Thanks,
    Jackal

best to check on the power supply and adjust it. Just a little pot you turn, kinda buried under the grill, but you can get to it.. 5.1 volts seem to be the magic number.

The early Km3Ps had a little board mounted behind the card rack with six opto-isolators on. If you have no joy with the voltages, it may be one of the optos. They were H11G2 types.

Can you tell me where the 5v power supply is located?
