Excellent job on this long awaited and much-needed revision Marcus!

I would humbly suggest the following additions:

Step one: Be sure power supply is turned off and disconnected from AC

CAUTION: Never connect or disconnect a motor while power is on.

Step three: ......On earlier versions, the switch is located inside the case, near the outside edge of the main terminal block, and can be activated through this slot with a non-conductive screwdriver, thin plastic strip or even a wooden toothpick.

Step four: Wire your motor to the included db9 solder cupS

Add: Inspect the solder connections for any contact between posts, loose or stray wires or cold solder joints. Do not operate any motor without the supporting back shell firmly screwed into place--Else wires may come loose and short circuit.

Step eight: The following connections, (Refer to side-view diagram)

Inputs: The other end of the switch goes to ground, (position 12) or to the PSU DC ground connection.

Add at end: No separate power supply is needed if using non-electronic switches.

ANALOG OUTPUT: VFD ground (Pin 7) VFD out (PIN 8) VFD +10V (Pin 9)

CAUTION: Many machines have these circuits at LINE VOLTAGE! Work only with power disconnected.

Troubleshooting, Inputs or outputs not working:

Add: Check that parallel port address is set correctly in software.

......Use an EPP compliant PCI parallel card.

Problem: Strange or intermittent motor operation:
Solution: Open DB9 connectors and check for contact between posts or loose/broken wiring.

    Thanks Marcus,

    CR.
