    Arrow 750 Acramatic 2100 Internal Error 0X80016

Our machine keeps getting the following error message and shutting itself down:
Internal Error 0X80016 - System Fail 4000E - General Protection Error

Any ideas? Seems to only be happening when the 4th axis is installed and in use, but not 100% sure. Problem is happening about once a day, and the spindle drops about 1/8" inch each time it shuts down so we keep scrapping parts.

    Thanks

your z is dropping due to the lag time between the servo system shutting off and your brake clamping. I would load an existing good hard drive image in machine and see if it helps. If not sometimes these little software glitches occur in the windows side so maybe try reloading windows NT.

Well the HD has probably only been in the machine for 1.5 years. But as far as I can remember the head has always dropped down on this machine on a critical control failure, or a power outage. I will try putting my backup HD in and see how that goes.

I'd be interested in reloading NT, but any idea where I could possibly get my hands on a copy?

    thanks Chad

If you have the a2100 control reference manual check the section on boot up sequence watchine the basic bridge board. there are four led lights on the bridge board 1 red and 3 green. As the machine boots up there is a particular sequence you should see these lights toggle to verify the cpu side of the machine. If you are not familar with this there is a hole in the front bottom of the big silver box. The basic bridge board is the board that spans across the back and all boards plug into it. You can watch these leds through the front hole. If you get a failure the book will reference actions needed to be taken. Also i'm not sure of your location but we see real time errors when the temperature and or humidity are elevated. Check all fans on machine inside and out.
