    Cool Splitting a Large Part

    Hello Forum,

I have a 24" long part to cut and a 12" milling table. I have successfully re- indexed long parts before but this one is driving me crazy. I can't seem to get the break feature to work in Mastercam X4. Has anybody been able to split a large part in Mastercam and machine one half at a time?

    Thanks in advance,

    Wayja

is it a wire frame or solid or surfaces as I have split them all. want to share the file to split?

    Hey cadcam,

For some reason the file won't zip, but here is an unfinished example of a similar file. It is a solid created in Solidworks 2010 and saved as a Parasolid Binary file. I have in the past split the solid and create two files in Mastercam, but that gets complicated. I know there has to be an easier way? Thank you for spending the time to enlighten a non-machinist newbie. I look forward to your feedback.
