    VMC 4020

    hi fellow fadal users, we lost all programs in the control and do not have rs-232 capability right now so we need to hand jam a program, just a dozen lines or so but can not figure out how to initialize an edit screen for new program?? any help would be greatly appreciated

    does your control have the command menus at the bottom of the screen? You can use the EDIT menu to start a new program.
    With the older software, go to ENTER NEXT COMMAND and type IN,1 and press ENTER. Next at the bottom of the screen type the "O" word and press enter. The cursor will move the next line at automatically enter N2. Now just start typing each line of your program. At the end of each line press enter. Repeat until the last line is entered. Exit the INSERT mode by pressing ENTER a second time on a blank line.

    thanks a bunch Neal, looks like I am inserting code, I have run about a dozen cnc mills over the past 20 years but this one is about the goofiest interface I have ever seen.. hat tip to you
