Just finished getting the tailstock apart and freed up. After checking the hyd valves, I pulled the back of the tailstock apart and definately has had some moisture in there and lack of use. Will clean things up and get it freed up. Are there any vents or lube points for the tailstock housing, I don't see any?

I have never seen any lube points in there !!
You will have to use some kind of a WD40 , & something else to remove all
signs of moisture from there ,

That'w what I've been doing. Looks like either packing or a gland in there and I would like to pull it all apart and get it cleaned up. Has some rust up on the top and can't see what is on the other side of the gland. Enough to get it stuck I know. There is a small round cap on the side of the quill housing and I took the screws out but I can't easily remove it. I can see some silicone or something at the base of the cap. I was hoping it was a way to lube the other side of the gland, but with the amount of crap on the one side, it all needs to come apart.
Hey, somebody was telling me about a spring loaded center that you mount in your chuck to do tube material. The tail stock pushes the material against this center and it has some teeth or something on it so you don't need a lathe dog so you can turn between centers. Do you know what that is called? edit: just looked in MSC, its a face driver, duh......

H. Sorry !! i'm the maintenance Tech. down here , you are not talking about a bar puller ? are you ?

The T. stock cylinder you should be able to actuate it just by air press,
with an air hose

Nope, tail stock. Had a bunch of moisture related crap in it and was stuck in the extended position. Cleaned it out and works like a champ.
