Hey guys, I just bought a hf 7X10 lathe thats a few years old. the motor keeps stalling out slowing down to a slower speed or stopping all togeather.
If i move the speed adjustment, it will ramp up to the new speed no problem.


Is the motor shot? or need new brushes? or bad PCB? or bad pot?

I'd guess board or pot from symptoms. Not had mine open, but if the pot is not sealed, you might spray some QD electronics cleaner (walmart, red can in automotive) into the pot and move it around 10 or 20 times and see if it fixes it. Fixed my shop stereo slider pots!
