    More info

    Machine was running today, with a few little issues. We are new to this so are still trying to nut everything out. We turned the machine off, turned it back on again later on and it went through the boot screen;

6T Version 44 etc came up, then it went to PC ready, then went NOT READY on the screen. So we cant turn hydraulics or anything on or off, cant do anything with the machine, Okuma techs are on holidays.

So basically if anyone knows whats happening here any help would be appreaciated, were just trying to get off the ground a little bit. Once this issue is sorted we have a second issue, but one thing at a time for now.

    Cheers

Try looking at a few basics for any faults
    • lub levels
    • tailstock position ( fully retracted )
    • air supply ( some machines need to be at correct pressure )
    • machine in over-travel ( m/c OFF, wind leadscrews by hand )
    • limit switches do work ( X, Z, Door, etc )( swarf not fouling switches)
    • broken wires from foot switch
    • chuck clamp/unclamp limit switch
    • AUX equipment is engaged/enabled (ie bar feeder)

Typical problems on the 6T/M are with problems with the 5vdc-24vdc power supply.
The machine powers the supply up and if the power up is successful it hold the input unit on, other wise the input unit shut the machine down, disconnecting the 24vdc outputs one at a time may show if one has a short to ground etc.
Limit switches, frayed wiring etc can cause it.

Usually in the control cabinet near the rest of the controller, it has all the connections on the RH side usually 5v & 24vdc.

Definatly got 5V, checked on the back of the dial, which would indicated that i have 24v as well, I would think the 5V regulator would be fed by 24V.

Is your Input unit ready light on? This is the small square unit with a relay and a couple of fuses on and 1 or 2 indicator Leds.

after firing up the electronics, look for a button/switch that says "control on" or "CON" or some such. Push that and the pumps and motors will start up and the machine will wake up. After that, SLOWLY go thru the Zero return process. Should be ready to go.
