    Drills and Mills for Glass

    Hi All!

I need to make some deep (2.5 and 1.5 mm diam and 43 or 23 mm deep) holes in special optical glass. It is quite hard (about 85 HRA or 820 HV) so I think here diamond or cBN tools needed. Anyone knows manufacturers of such tools?

You want a sintered diamond impregnated coring drill. Imerse the assembly totaly in oil and peck drill it. I used to do this all the time in a variety of glass.
I love deadlines- I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
