Grouping entities & then making them all the same colour?

When I goup a load of entities I can't seem to change their colour (the colour obviously temporarily changes wheile they/re highlighted/selected).

How can I change their colours - my screen is getting a little busy, so I'd like to differentiate some of my gemoetry.

go to the system config file
    open "Colors" tab
set the check mark on "Use Group's Colors"

you can set the "default group color" in the area above in this dialog screen

Many thanks for taking the time to reply - just tried that, saw the box, ticked it as described, chose my preferred group colour.

So now when I drag the mouse over a group of entities, how do I actually get the colour of the selected entities to change? (in other words, how can I tell MAstercam that I want the hihlighted entities to have a different colour?)

On the Status Bar (bottom) right click you mouse over the Color, It will ask you to select the entities to change the color of, Pick then entities, End Selection, Pick the color you want and OK.

Thanks but I'm still not getting it (by the way, I'm not new to computers).

    Ok, here's what I'm doing...

On my drawing all my lines are the same colour...I want to drag my mouse over a few of them to change their colour from the default colour.

Therefore I drag my mouse over them & they get highlighted ...so now I click on the colour box at the bottom of my screen, I select a different colour, it takes my selection- I'm returned to the drawing but nothing has happened....all lines on my drawing remain the same colour.

    Aaaaargh.

Everything on the Status Bar works like that. Change the Level of an entity: right click on the Level, select the entity, end select and OK.

The same for Line style and Line thickness.
