Position: Press Operator
Summary: Sets up and operates power press to blank, form, bend, stretch and straighten metal plates, extrusions, and sheet as specified by blueprints, layout, and/or template.
Essential Functions:
-Installs and aligns dies in press according to specifications using shims, templates, bolts, clamps, and wrenches. Adjusts ram stroke to required length.

-Inspects work and changes dies when making multiple or successive passes.

-Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.

-Hand forms or finishes (including deburr) workpieces using available tools.

-(May) Assemble dies or set dies to punch and blank heavy metal.

-Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to coordinate activities.

-Accurately inspect and measure parts to maintain statistical process control charts.

Requirements:
One of the following -
- Six months or more of trade or vocational school
- 1 year or more of related work experience
- 1 year or more of related apprenticeship



2nd Position: Secondary Department Operator
Summary: Operates under supervision various machines and tools to manufacture and assemble parts per work order, supervisor, and blueprint instructions. May operate foot presses, riveters, hand coilers, drill or punch presses, power brake, finger brake, deburring equipment, conventional mills, etc.
Essential Functions:
-Use hands and various tools to construct small and sub-assemblies.

-Bonding with adhesives and touching-up assembled components with paint.

-Use drill or other presses, riveter, hand or power tools to to trim, bend, form, deburr, and assemble metal and plastic components.

-Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to coordinate activities.

- (May) Learn to read blueprints, mix adhesives, operate other equipment or be responsible for holding dimensions.

Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED
- Previous related work experience

Physical Demands:
Employee may be required to
-Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, or bend to the floor.
-Exert up to 50lbs of force to move objects

Visual Acuity
Should be able to read fine print (such as blueprints), calipers, dial gauges, and other precision measuring devices.

Hearing Ability
Should be able to monitor machine or tool sounds to identify and diagnose changes and take appropriate corrective/preventative actions.
