Anyone happen to know what brand of lovejoy style coupling George is using? I'm changing my drive motors and they've got 8mm shafts so it would be great if I didn't have to remove the ballscrew half of the connector.

I've been trying to get in touch with George but he's been off the grid for like two weeks now.

Hi Andy , I sent you email that I don't have in 8mm for the 30mm OD coupling on your long axis. I only have 12.7mm and so older 6.35 couplings. I do have 8mm in 25mm OD but asked if yours was 4 tooth or 2 tooth

    Hi George,

I never got any e-mails from you, checked my spam folder and everything. Try sending another and I'll try to call you as well.

I have been asked lots of times for bare frames for sale. I will be selling them as bare kit without blocks/rails or ballscrews.
For people wanting to use lower cost blocks and rails, like Hiwin or other companys out there or lower cost ballscrews

Hey everyone. . Quick question for you all. I started making a simple fence picket with one 2d contour.. I'm using hsmexpress for solid works. . Love the integration for cam programming. The machine cuts the contour and then always travels home or in that direction. Mastercam used to push the same result. It travels all the way to the back of the machine until it hits the limit switch. However i made 10 pieces and each one is just under 1/8" shorter than the one previous. Has one ever experienced anything like this? How can I solve it? I have another 120 pickets to make and don't want to have to re zero each piece as i gave a jig made.
    Thanks in advance

I don't know what ballscrews or what you used.
You might be missing a step somewhere . Even missing step it will go to limit switch no matter how many steps you lose.
Are you running servos? or steppers?

I found the problem last night. Turns out the home position was set in machine coordinates to a position not on my table so every time I finished a program it would end up tuning to the end of the machine where it hit the limit switch. On top of that I found the limit switch loose and the machine was actually hitting the hard stop just before the limit switch. All is good now. Thanks machine runs like s dream now that it's finished.

George as I am new to servos (heck, still new to steppers), let me ask a dumb question. Does each easy servo have its own dedicated ES-D508 drive? If so, can you add an easy servo with an ES-D508 to a Leadshine MX4660, say if you need ultra precise rotary axis control, or do you need to completely change your machine over to 100% servos?

Thanks for your patience with the newbie stuff...

Hi John, you might be able to use 5th or 6th axis output on MX4660 or 4th axis out put on MX3660 , I ll have to ask them to be sure but I think you can
