Regardless if your die maker is superman, your talking about extruders whom are in a seemingly good economy at the moment compared to others. Pushing precision is none to attractive to them as there about speed and poundage right now and don't need the exposure of a small guy bithching about his parts being out of tolerance by a thou. I've had guys lately walk away from complex shapes whom would have begged for it a few years ago.

Anyways, if it's in fact less than a thou a foot...great for you, that's amazing. Does the shape include a shelf for the rails to align on? Are you going to support screws with the screw applied end caps like the ckk's.

Yes the Techno design is very thin and only has 16mm ballscrew with u groove bearings for there blocks.
profile has ledge for 2 25mm rails. Ballscrew is attached on the one inch end caps .25mm Ballnut housing is attached to rail blocks for alignment .
Profiles will be machined for back and rail slots for cleaning them up if needed .
The 8080 profile cost a lot more money to get extruded to high tolerances because extra checking for what is needed. The 80x174 profile will be made the same way.

the extruder is also superman. they make a good partnership. when you ask for precision, all the other extruding companies tell you to go to them.

im not really sure why toronto has so many big extruding plants and die makers. seems an odd place for them, but whatever. good for us

Ok thanks understand that this size (24") has been deleted fro the range.

With respect to what is required in addition to the basic mechanical kit do you supply the items as additional kits of parts depending on the spec the customer wants or give guidance on what to purchase if this is better done locally. I would be building in the UK.

For more detail of specification and pricing etc. Should contact be direct via email on your site, rather the on the forum?

    Thanks.

    magic. :P

the ends are usually machined on a mill. you line up and cut 2 at once, and then they are guaranteed to be identical.

    The last video was:

    - 3/8" Carbide 2 flute TIALN coated end mill
    - Denatured Alcohol for coolant/lubricant
    - 17,600 RPM
    - 78 inches per minute
    - .200" stepover
    - .100" stepdown

Unsupport or even the supported round rails from older machines. First on lathe to drill and tap ends .Then on mill to machine to exact
