    Centroid CNC-2 Help

I am totally new to the CNC world, but I looking forward to being able to make some interesting parts for various project. I have an older Centroid CNC-2 and a desktop milling machine. I can connect the steppers to the CNC-2 and use the jog controls to make them move. My next step is to use a computer to control them. So I am looking for PC setup information and recommendation on simple hopefully free software I can download to get past this next test. I have tried searching on the CNC-2 but can find no relevant information, so if someone can help or point me in the general direction I would be most appreciative.

    Thanks

    Graham

Graham, my CNC-4 has a serial port (25 pin if I recall) that is uses by a terminal program to talk to it. I use Ubuntu with a serial terminal but any VT100 terminal program should work. Once you have the serial connection you should have a menu that give you options to load programs and such. Good luck.
