    Mitsubishi HC-PQ servos

    Hi,
Just bought what i thought was a bargain load of Mitsubishi HC-PQ servos off ebay, I just hope I havent been stupid.

All I can find is combined driver+servo info so I'm realy hoping that I dont have to use some special Mitubishi drive.

Does anyone have any experience using these without the Mitsubishi drives or any encoder voltage and wiring info?

I've tried testing an encoder with a scope and got a flatline, so beginning to panic.

    Thanks in advance,

    Tristan

Most likely 10,000 p/rev serial encoders, Is there a separate number on the encoder?

    Al,
    Encoder serial OBE12 0X1C09-G.

I got the motors to replace some smaller servos with incremental encoders. Looks like I will have to just have to replace the encoders, should have done my homework.
    Thanks

You most likely will need encoders with commutation pulses on them.
If so you will need to know the pole count of the motor, probabally 8 pole/

    Al,
    Thanks for the help.
Had a look around the other threads and it looks like you know these things back to front.
Is it simple to fit new encoders or should I go to someone who knows?

I have a couple of previous posts on how to align a commutation encoder, you really need a D.B. 'scope.
