I HAVE A VMX 24 WITH AN ULTIMAX CONTROL. THE POWER BUTTON SWITCH LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON WHEN PUSHED. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS SWITCH APART? IS IT A BULB OR DOES THE SWITCH NEED TO BE REPLACED? ANY IDEA ON HOW TO ACCESS OR REMOVE IT? THANKS FOR THE HELP.

Just undo the little green cover by turning it CCW (use a small suction cup if it's tricky to turn), pop off the white cover and then pull out the bulb with a little bit of rubber tube. If there is no tube available, hit E-stop and pull it out gently with a small pair of pliers with tape wrapped around the tips.
For extra life in the future, replace it with the LED bulb replacement: Hurco part No. 411-0001-054 (observe polarity with it though).
Thanks for the info. As far as the regular incandesent bulb would that be anything special that would have to come from Hurco or would it be available at like Radio Shack?
They should be readily available from most suppliers. I think they are referred to as telephone base lamps.
Bloke, they might be available in the UK, but I found that only Hurco USA has the bulbs (24V) that fit the socket.
I made up some LEDs to fit my KM3
I been getting the bulbs for "POWER" "START" & "FEED HOLD" for the Ultimax 2 control for years from my local Bulbs+ store. In stock.
But an LED replacement might be just the ticket.
What is the part number ?
I thought the bulb was a special made for Hurco as my source could not find it
I'll try to get that info tomorrow, as is I need to get more myself.
The switches on the console are made by a company called EAO.
I ordered bulbs from Newark Electronics, part# 76K1088 - as I recall, about $1 each.
In the UK Newark does business as Farnell Components.
