    ?? Probe lost calibration ??

    Interesting...

I have not ran any parts on our mill in a couple months. Last night I ran a part and set everything up with the probe. When I ran the program the probe had lost all information on its length.

Is there anything that could have been done to make it lose calibration?

    Thanks

    Tim

My first thought is that somebody overwrote the probe's Z offset. That length is only stored in the tool offset page as far as I know.

I keep that number written down just in case.

Tool offset is the most likely culprit, this can be remedied using the intuitive tool setup feature. Other possibilities are work, global, or wear offset values.

    calibration

    Hi,

Are you saying that the tool length in the offset register is blank for the tool number that holds the probe?

The battery life in the Renishaw probe and tool setter on my TM-1P is about 3 to 6 months depending on how often you use it. Just something else you might want to check if my first statement is not correct.
