    Probing - Mazak Fusion

Ok...I'm not the CNC guy - but I am the computer guy and general tinkerer...

WARNING: Our scenario may not be DIY enough for here - I don't know!

We've got a Mazak VCN-510C (with Fusion control) but did not get any probing capability with the machine.

Ebay's got all kinds of Renishaw machine probes for dirt cheap regularly...that's great...but I don't have the foggiest idea on what else I need.

I'd love for our operator to actually be able to measure parts in the fixture via probing. Obviously I could call Mazak and they'd be happy to turnkey it for me but I suspect there is a less expensive route.

Suppose I buy a probe from Ebay...what else should I get?..what else do I need?

    Thanks!

Usually the probe is used with G31, the output of the probe goes to a high speed input labeled skip-input, you will also need measuring routines, renishaw have them for different controls, but they charge you for them. Unless you can write them yourself.
