    problem with Z axis!!!

I sent a email to Tormach this morning, but if somebody have a idea on my problem...

For a couple of days, my Z axis is defect. Sometime, the Z axis will become completely unusable. When I try to jog in Z, I ear a very loud sound and sometime when I try to jog up, it'll go down.

A couple of time, I closed the machine, and the problem would go away. But not this morning. I've re-started several time and the problem persist.

About 6 month ago, I upgraded my Z axis with the brake upgrade. I worked very fine until this week.

    Anyone ver got this problem?

Could it be related to my PC? the Z drives? DC bus card? Z motor?

    I've found my problem.

A wire at the connection of the Z drive was toasted. I'll have some repair to do on the drive. For now I swapped the Z drive with the 4th axis drive. So I'm up and running.
