SV-2412 Mini???
I will be looking to upgrade to a bigger CNC mill in the future so I am starting my homework early. I like the 2412 but don't understand why it's called a mini mill? A friend of mine owns two Mori Seiki MV 35/40's and the things look really big (huge compared to my Tormach), but the travels are only X30" Y13.7" Z17.7" where the Sharp is X24" Y12" Z18". The Sharp is really close to the Mori.
So is the Sharp able to do real work? Not factory production, but a couple of guys in a small shop production? I really only want to do Aluminum, but we all know that steel and other things are always going end up on the table anyway. I guess what I am asking is if I pick up a good used 2412 in a few years is it going to be a viable tool with capability and accuracy?
