    Round Part Workholding in Mill

I once used this thing that holds a collet, from a hardinge lathe, in a block. The block could then be mounted in a vise. This was a nice way to hold round parts in the vise, but I don't know what this is called or where to buy one!

For precise work, a collet holder in the vise is a good method, I think. But for larger pieces this isn't possible (with my collets). A less repeatable way would be to have a 3-jaw chuck that sits in a vise, or is mounted directly to the table. I'd really like one of these, but again, I'm not sure how to go about finding it.

    Any advice/experience is greatly appreciated,

    Thanks,
    Matt

    A 5C collet block perhaps?

Or for the larger parts: http://www.titusconsultingllc.com/tk...ng_chucks.html

or a rotary table... which is a much more versatile (and expensive) piece of equipment.
