I need to cut A rope thread for a .75 die rope with a .85 pitch.
is there an easy way to do this?
I am using Mastercam x4 with lathe lvl 1

Never done this but I would think it would be like any other thread you would us a G76 or G92 for programming and some sort of round insert to match the radius of your rope and at .85 for pitch I would,ent think you could run the spindle to fast because your Z axis will have a hard time keeping up.

I want to offer a method of rope threading wich reduce the cost of manufacturing rope thread in rock drill tools.
Processing takes place on a milling machine with CNC. Cutting speed=200m/min, fedrate 0,03 mm/tooth (190 mm/min), tool may have more than two teeth.
Tool use required standard cutting inserts, for example: WALTER: CCMT060204-PS5 WPP20.
