    How do you remove knee of series 1 mill

    I did a search for how to remove the knee from a series 1 mill. Did not find any thing on removing the knee. Can someone point me in the proper direction. Thanks

    assuming you have already removed the table

    support the knee with a crane

    unbolt knee screw from base of machine

    looking at the machine ,on the left , on top of the knee , remove the cover , remove gib screw and gib

    lift up with the crane and rotate the knee out

    if that don't work loosen the four bolts holding the base of your ram to the base of the machine and rotate it out of the way , and lift the knee off

    thanks, I am in the process of cleaning up and changing the grease.
