    Post Researching CNC

I am an avid wood worker and am interested in CNC. I have researched to the point of being interested in a Fireball V90 CNC for tabletop wood carving. I am sure from my research that I can assemble the machine. I am leary of the whole CAD to CAM to Gcode and set up of the electronics side. Do you need a degree in computer science to get onto this stuff?
I have read the manual for EMC2 and was quite intimidated. Has anyone been down this road and have some advice for me?

A lot of people find the software to be the hard part.
I recommend going to Vectric - CNC Software Solutions - Wood Carving - Engraving - Signmaking - Routing - Machining. Look at their offerings, and download demo's and learn how to use them. Far and away the easiest software you'll find.

They also have an excellent forum to help you out if you have any questions.

Thanx for the advice, I have downloaded a trial version of ProCarve 5.5 and will watch some tutorials and try to build some projects from scratch
