    Problem communicating between Gibbscam and M32

    Anyone know the parameters and settings between gibbs and M32. I keep getting an ALARM 544 TAPE READER MISCONNECTED, yes i am sending through ptr/ptp connection. I contacted Mazak, they sent me info from 1989 about parameters for crosstalk software. i have tried these parameters as well as every configuration in gibbs preferences that i can think of. I got gibbs to communicate with m640 control, but no luck with M32 or M2.
    If anyone has any info could ya help me out. thanks

    Almost the same identical problem.

    Hi,
    We are going through the same identical problem. Could you share some of
    the settings you have come up with so maybe we to can get this mill to run
    using GibbsCam.

    Thanks

    We use Griffo Bros for transfering mazatrol programs to all of our machines, so I contacted Mazak about the cable pin-out on the ptp/ptr port. They told that pin-out was same. WRONG!!! I was trying to use the same rs-232 cable from Griffo Bros on GibbsCam. I checked the ohms on the griffo cable, pin-out was way off. Here is what you need to do:

    Contact: Bill Dirr @ connectech-cables.com: 1-800-605-0304 in NC, he has this pin-out on file, I got a 3ft cable. Very nicely done, good port ends, not halfass'd, and the good thing is, it was only $28.00, guy in New york wanted $100.00 minimum order. You may have someone closer to you, but we got a 2 day turn around. If you do use him, tell him you want the same cable that Jason from Hartmanns' Inc got.

    Mazak DB25 Male - Host Computer DB9 Female

    2 2

    3 3

    7 5

    Jump pins 5,6,8, & 20 to each other on the DB25 connector. On the DB9 connector, jump pins 7 to 8, and then 6,1, & 4 to each other.

    Then in Gibbs go to File>Preferences>Com setup:

    Com Port...( I am on a Windows 7 Laptop using a USB to DB9 adptr on Com4) Whatever yours is should go here

    Data Rate...4800

    PARITY:EVEN

    Data Bits...7

    Stop Bits...2

    Handshaking: RTS/CTS

    Block End...CR+LF

    One thing to note, if you toggle the prgm window and watch the prgm load to pc you will see that the the last 2 lines of prgm will not load. But once you open prgm up in Machine it is all there. We ended up unchecking program length in Post Processor Comments tab under prefernces.

    Set the M32 parameters to the following:

    G19=2, G20=3, G21=0, G22=0, G23=3, G27=0, G29=3, G30=1, G31=76, G32=13, G33=109, G34=122, G35=91, G36=70, G37=26, G38=74, G39=30, G40=0, G41=50, G42=5000, G43=00000000, G44=10, G45=30, G47=1, G48=0, G49=0
