I have a 95 4020 with 88HS - cpu 1400-4 and am using NC Fadal v1.3 and the cable I found described by Gar on this forum. DB25: jumper 4&5 together, and 6,8 & 20 together and
DB25 ---> DB9
2 ---> 2
3 ---> 3
7 ---> 5
No jumpered pins on the DB9 end
I can download and upload programs no prob at baud 38400 - nice and easy, and pretty darn fast.
In the program, it shows "radio buttons" where I supposedly can download from the machine, tool table, current program, all programs, axis summary - backlash (going from memory here)... But the only thing I can get is programs.
If I try and get tool offsets or anything other than a program or all programs, I either get an error saying it cant communicate (only on one of them), or, I just get the program that is in memory.
Was wanting to pull down everything from the machine just to have a back up to dig though and look at... without standing in the shop at the machine. Not to mention should all the memory get cleared, would be nice to have backups of everything.
Im wondering if since the software I think is a few years newer than the machine, if its just a case that my control cant send some of that info, but the software is designed to get it if the control will send. And just wanted to make sure I wasnt doing something wrong. The NCFadal manual makes it look easy as pie...
Thanks
Wade
