Hello,
I have a macine with a 2 morse taper nose and want to make up my own set of toolholders for flatted shank endmills, from soft morse taper blank end arbours.
Without buying all the shank sizes available from 0 to about 1/2"( I only have a few currently ), I need to know WHERE the flat is located for various shank diameters, on cutters with the shanks aready ground with a flat.
I need this information for metric shanks ( preferably ) and imperial.
I realise that I could grind a flat anywhere I like, but many cutters are available with the flat already ground on, and I want to make my holders to suit these.
I cant find a drawing / diagram on the web which gives this information.
Anyone got one or know where there is one on the web to download for free ?
I think the BS / ISO standard is BS ISO 3338-2:2007 and for the holders is ISO BS 5414-1:2002 and ISO BS 5415-2:2002, BUT I CANT GET THIS OR VEIW THIS FOR FREE ON THE WEB........ CURSES !! ...............unless you know differently
Any help much appreciated,
Cheers Nick
