    New Build Questions

After scouring this forum, I am about ready to jump into building a 4'x8' (work area) router table.

Has anyone considered microlam beam for the table and possibly the gantry? It seams like a suitable material for a 9'x 55" table. Fairly in expensive, stiff, better resonate frequency?

    Thanks in advance,
    PCFLyer

Not that I know of. If you build with it we'll watch it.

Okay, I'll see how accurate the microlam supplier can cut to length. I like the look of it.

Sides are 11 7/8", with legs 9 1/2". Gantry side uses 14" wide sections and a 9 1/2" cross piece.

A gear rack will be mounted on the bottom of a long brace centered lengthwise on the table

    Here's a rendering.

Microlam not stable, will warp - better to use cabinet ply or MDF.

Any CNC router hobbyists in Chicago (NW) area than could cut a table project? Planning a 4x8 MDF router table.

    Thanks,
