Thanks! This was just a personal project for myself. The way I see it, every plasma pierce eliminated from a job will help extend the life of the consumables.

Maybe in the future, if I were to receive enough interest or request for such a product, I would consider looking into further...

    Tulsa,
Is this tool help pierce? I mean shorter piercing time. If you are going to add this in your product, a lot people will be interested in it. If you use chicago scriber, it will be so expensive, maybe using spring loaded one be cheaper.

I might just cut out a new bracket for my Z once I get the machine up and running. But, if you offered a bracket kit, I would possibly throw down. Someone needs to win that Z reduction on your site John and that would give me one more entry so it would cycle through and hopeuflly I'm the winner!!! LOL

    Thanks!

    I'll look into it...

The plate marker base mount that I prototyped for myself is specifically designed for the shopdroids IVTAAG X axis carriage and Z axis drive. The base mount is sandwiched between the Z drive carriage and the X axis carriage with ear mounts that are offset to the side and can be oriented for either left or right side operation. The principle objective of the design was to take away the least amount of travel from the X axis carriage as possible. In this case it is .75 inches.

Image of the base mount is shown below:

I would like to make another one with ear mounts on both sides to have the option of mounting the scribe on either side of the gantry carriage or better yet have the punch on one side and the pneumatic scribe on the other...

You're right! Someone needs to win it as it is just collecting dust on my shelf...

I should have finished this tool a year ago...

This was my first punch/cut part and the measurements were dead on after drilling.

Is there any way you could just tie this into your Z-axis support instead of having it be a separate part? Meaning, just add ears to your main plate holding your Z-axis rail bearings.

On another Note, I am very close to starting my build thread. Just tested my controller box and motors for the first time. I ran the scorpion test piece and they all seem to rotate and cycle in the correct timing. How hot do your motors get? They felt pretty warm to the touch after running the part. Granted this is without a load at all as well.

I'll be sure to showcase your products in a good way!

The original prototype was made that way and will most likely be a future option...
