    Fanuc 6M

    Hi,

What is the correct procedure to set the tool offsets?

I can set the tool offset in G54, but not in the tool registry.

    Everything seems to be locked.

    Can someone help?

    Thanks

Try setting your offset by using (P) instead of (z). on our old controler we have to input this number manualy for each tool. (example) P -10.325.

    Hey,

Tried using "P" and it worked. Thanks for the tip.

You are welcome, I'm not sure what they were thinking when they programed the old 6 M controlers. I'm glad I could help.

    You're Right

I thought we won WWII. They got even with us.

I tried ti download thru the RS 232 port and couldn't get it to work. I had the manual and set all the parameters accordingly., would not work.
called another machine user and he told me to change one parameter completely opposite from the manual, BINGO works like a charm. Go Figure,

    Thanks again

I don't know if this will help. On one of our 6 M controlers. you power it up . And then you have to hit the (CON) key on the control to get past the bubble read screen. It is an older Mori lathe. I am unsure if your controler has this key or not. I hope this will help. It is an 6 T controler, they may have that key on the 6 M also, I don, tknow. Or it might have a emergency return button .
