Unhappy Code moving to z position before xy

    Hi All,

Another question when running my MadCam code in Mach 3 it seems to drop to the z0 height then travel to the xy start position.

Obviously this is not ideal, especially if the piece to be cut is not perfectly level.... I don't really understand code, but is the piece of code highlighted red below telling it to go to z0 before it moves to the correct xy position?

Maybe I'm totally wrong and the code is correct but if not where do change this setting so it travels safely?

    Thanks in advance,
    Richard

Something is definitely wrong with your post. Your tool is dropping to Z0, moving over in X and Y, then going up 3mm, feeding back down slightly to 2.23 then starting the cut. Can you attach your post? It's probably just a matter of reordering some moves.

    Stupidity was to blame

I was reading someones instructions for madcam which said to set the home position (on the posting screen) to 0,0,0 or at least I thought it did... It actually said in this case the home position is 0,0,0

The numbers which madcam generates for the home position should be left alone correct? The possible exception being the z height which I may want to increase to just to be on the safe side?

    Thanks for the quick reply!

Maybe that's all it was. Try a path leaving the numbers alone and see what happens.
