No Joy with my New G0704

Well, finally got the mill cleaned up and together in the shop.

Went to do the spindle break-in, all switches in the manual approved settings.

open the e-stop, push the green button, LED speed display lights up, release the button, LEDs go out - then nothing.

If I hold the button down the display will go to a single 0, but goes out as soon as I release the button.

Looks like I'l going to have to open 'er up and do some electrical exploring.

Any G0704 Vets out there have a directions I should head in first?

Check the spindle direction knob, it needs to be in foward or reverse before pressing the power switch.

Ding Ding DING we have a winner!

Thanks Jeff, that was it, went to pull the wires from the switch and the blue wire pulled right out of the connector leaving it on the switch!

temporarily clamped the wires together and way she went! :-)

happily that was one of the first things I wanted to do to the mill anyway LOL

I hate that chip guard switch. The circuit must be closed for it to work (it goes from the on/off switch to the chip guard switch, then to a terminal on the board) because I think it powers the magnetic switch. The switch won't work if there are no power to it.
