    X2 CNC Fusion #4 Kit Y-axis Mod

I have my X2 mill in pieces and I want to increase my <edit> Y-axis by doing the mod Hoss did to his mill where he removed the boss shown in the pictures below. Can anybody conform this will work with the CNC Fusin #4 kit? I'm 99.99% certain it will, but that 0.01% is preventing from taking an angle grinder to it.

    Thanks in advance,

    Steph

Thats the Y axis :-) but yes it would work, I don't have their kit, but what you will be doing is exposing more of the ballscrew.

I did it on my X2.

One issue I've found is that there is a need to do a little more machining. The following example is an extreme version, so I'll remove up to about halfway.

Steoh, yes, the last photo you show of the modified Y mount is required to get the simple Y travel increase with the CNC Fusion kit.

    cheers,

    Thanks Michael, you're a legend.

That was great reading, especially the shellacking. (chair)
