Where are you shipping them to?

The best idea is to pick one up from a store if you can, I would if I lived in the US.

There's a local guy here that sells the same one for $315

i called my local store to see if they had one in stock and was told no, stores do not stock stuff of that nature and i would have to order from the wed site. i was also informed that the reason the stand is on sale is that it is discontinued and they are just unload whats left in the ware house.

It's obvious they're quitting the stock, as that price is almost certainly below cost, if not well below.

I just bought one of these on a whim - bit the bullet and paid the $99 shipping fee for it.

I'm going to use it in the near term to hold an X2 mill (yes, it is obviously overkill for that application, and the height is not optimal).

My longer term plan is to use it to hold an RF-45 class mill, perhaps an IH clone. I priced out what it would cost to get materials and weld up a suitable machine base, then compared that with what it would cost to buy a base for the IH or similar machine, and it looked like this stand was still a better deal. I'm taking a chance with it, but I figure that even in the worst case I can make it work for me. It's a bit hard to tell from the pictures whether it is similar to the base that comes with a mid-sized Grizzly mill such as the G0704 (although that stand appears to be taller).

Short-term pain, but hoping for longer-term gain.

$99 for truck shipping. Total of $160 isn't too bad.

Don't forget that you can use a 20% off coupon to knock down the price by another $12.

Depending on your location they may or may not charge sales tax.

Yeah, I'm not sure where he got $1300 shipping, I guess some people should refrain from posting when under the influence of god knows what...

    Steoh,

You are located in Australia isn't that correct? Harbor Freight is in the U.S.A, the U.S.P.S. shipping cost from the U.S.A to Australia is accurate.

Even if I am constantly under the influence of chocolate frosting, it sure beats Vegemite.
