    G&L Ram630 X Axis Reference Problem

The Ram 630 has a homing procedure you must go through for each axis after the machine has been powered down. You select the axis and it proceeds minus to a positive stop and then moves to zero. the x Axis goes to the stop and faults out with a servo excess error. In fanuc this is a dog-less homing method but in G&L I'm not sure what it is or where to look for parameters in the control.Has anyone had a similar problem and could possible give me a heads up on this? I have removed the way covers and there is no limit switch nor any obstruction.
    Thanks,Bruno
