    Mori Dura Vert 5060/5080/5100

Just a little heads up. As I was writing the PM sheets for our machines today, I found a somewhat hidden air filter. You must remove a rectangle cover with 4 button head cap screws to get to the filter for the axis drives. Its located on the back of the machine about eye level, approx 10 X 12. Ours are pretty new, so no big deal, but when was the last time if ever you checked yours ?

    Better go look !

Smart man. Actually, I knew about these little beauties, uncle Mori likes to hide them, and I keep em clean so the machine runs cool.

About once every 8 weeks, I power down and pull the filters, fans, and grills and clean them with simple green. I even take the air ducts out and clean them out too. Amazing amount of junk builds up in these things even in a clean shop.

Good practice to get in to! I just set up all the timers today to remind the guys to lube the drawbar collet. The nvd's we have have nothing hidden. Just the duras on that one filter.

thanks. another thing I do for the older Mori machines that don't have filters, but baffles, and for the okumas is I tape furnace filter over the intakes. keeps the crud out of the systems.
