engine 700 parts, lots of them repeat,

my take on it is to delete any part that repeats

so insteasd of .25" bolt being seen by SW as 100 different parts use one common. that way SW would not have to load seperate but identical versions of the same part.

This would save huge on memory correct? But what a job that would be, even the parts imported from X_T have cryptic name like 023424.prt after imported. is there another way? is this worth it

right now assembly including engine is sucking up 6GB or ram. Photoworks colors are dropping all over the place during render, and it take 20 min to load up on dual socket quad core 8 cores , 8gb ram not that solidworks uses more than a couple of cores anyway.

also photoworks colors wont render in lightweight mode, or i get too large to render so there allot here to work on. not sure what to do. my processors are a couple years old.
im looking at a week of work if this is something I need to do. can only dream of a macro -
