Hi,

I have picked up a set of 16mm HBC Ho Fong ballscrews. Can't seem to find any specs on them. They appear to be ground, 5mm lead and have no backlash.
I would like to find out what kind of load specifications there are.
What weight and rapids can I get away with if using moderate acceleration/deceleration profiles?
My weakest link is the 1/4" shaft end for a motor coupler.
I'd like a comparison of what you have been able to accomplish with 16mm ballscrews.
The plan is to build a small lathe, but the turret weighs 44lbs not inc. the motion platform (rails motor screw tooling etc). I 'm guessing 125lbs when done. It will be on a slant, counterbalanced pneumatically. Looking to move things around at 300ipm rapid or slower if need be.
What is your opinion? Do I need bigger screws?

TIA
