Despite a long wait the NM-200 is set up.
Attached are some pictures of the progress.
Rather than rushing, I decided to create a coolant containment curtain, as the first test had coolant everywhere within a four foot radius.
Not fancy but effective. Basically a clear plastic (0.01" thick) curtain hung on one inch PVC tubing with curtain hooks. The whole assembly is hung from the ceiling.
Original testing also demonstrated that the single coolant hose was not entirely satisfactory. Simply converted to a dual nozzle system which allows coolant delivery from both sides, ensuring that coolant is available at all times.
As a side note, I used GE Aluminum/Metal 100% silicone instead of clear silicone, as I don't ever intend to redo.
Overall, very impressed with all the assistance provided by John, Khai, Ron Rodney et all. Looking forward to the intermedite CNC course upcoming in March. Ron Marc has recently joined Novakon, and his many years of CAD/CAM experience bodes well for all.
Despite delivery delays caused by some faulty boards, I would much prefer they be discovered and cured, during the extensive testing Novakon performs, prior to delivery. The machine worked flawlessly out of the box!
Considering the cost of competitive machines, this unit has to be excellent value for the money.
Cheers Novakon, "you done good"
John
