Hey guys (and gals),
I'm new here and I haven't posted before AFAIK, but I've been lurking for a while. Anyways, I have a customized bench-top CNC router, and over the past year I've been setting it up and learning to use it. Very slowly. It's got about a 30" by 18" surface with about 3" on the Z axis, and uses a Foredom hand-tool as a spindle. I've managed to get it to have some amount of spindle control but it's not closed loop, and it's an AC motor so I don't know how to get it below 10k RPM or so.
I'm still having trouble finding good endmills for it and I really know nothing about my feeds and speeds. I would really like to find an experienced machinist/CNC operator that could help teach me some of the ropes.
I'm wiling to trade machine time for teaching, and I can also write custom software for you, I'm actually very good at 3D modeling and CAD, and I can help with websites and troubleshooting electronics and computer hardware.
